The fund intends to raise more than a billion shillings to be used in educating young Kenyans interested in higher education. Moi donated 3 million shillings to the kitty. The former head of state said enrolment into institutions of higher learning was decreasing due to the inability of many students to meet fee requirements.Already the fund has raised more than 3.8 billion shillings and will soon start allocating the fund to needy university students.
